[REVIEW]: Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector
Garnier has just begun advertising this as Australia’s first BB Cream. It comes in just 2 shades: light and medium, and boasts SPF 15.
Now let’s get to the review. I think I’ll comment on each thing the box claims to do, and then my own opinions about it.
Evens complexion:
I think of this ‘BB Cream’ more like a tinted moisturiser. Just like every other person who’s reviewed it really, but it’s true. It’s extremely light, with light coverage. It won’t particularly hide spots like foundation, which has heavier coverage, will but it does have just enough coverage to even out your skin tone. In fact, when looking at myself in a mirror from a metre or two away, my face has a ‘Photoshopped’ effect.
Reduces sun spots and imperfections:
Although I don’t have sun spots, I do have other imperfections. The skin on my cheeks can get slightly red on some parts, and this Skin Perfector does hide the red spots A LITTLE. To cover up and mask red spots, using solely this product won’t quite do the trick.
Boosts healthy glow:
Mmmmmm, I suppose so? I think when I first applied it on my face I looked a little more bright but I’ve gotten used to it so can’t tell for sure. I am relatively sure though that it does give a healthy glow because I noticed the brighter tone before.
Tinted 24H hydration:
Like I said before, tinted moisturiser. Keeps my face hydrated and of course, to achieve that ‘healthy glow’, it’s tinted. So if you want a moisturiser/light coverage in one, this is ideal.
UV protection SPF 15
I’m trusting this. There isn’t very much sun recently so I can’t tell, but usually, BB creams have some degree of sun protection.
So basically, it does what it says it does. It might imply better coverage than it really does supply, but I think it’s just enough to even the skin tone so that spots and redness are slightly less obvious.
Of course, since this is a relatively inexpensive product (approx. $15, I can’t exactly remember!) it won’t be as great as brands such as Étude House or Missha. Skin 79 looks quite interesting- apparently it’s the most popular BB brand, but it’s not in Australia so :(
Garnier’s cream is easy to apply, and has a light, pleasant smell. It’s not strong at all really, and even if you do smell it, it’s a nice kind of smell.
As for the anti aging, I definitely can’t review that aspect- we’d be here for a very long time, but as long as you’re willing to try it out, Garnier’s Miracle Skin Perfector is quite a pleasant product to use. I wouldn’t say it PERFECTS skin, but it does help, and that’s always nice.

FORMULA 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Mud Mask Review
I recently bought Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask by Formula 10.0.6. I have large pored, dry-one-day-and-oily-the-next skin. I was just browsing in Priceline when I saw 3 really cute, fun tubes- one of which is the Pores Be Pure packaging. I’m open to try anything to clean up my pores. There were also little sample packs of the mud masks but I think the full 100mL tubes were better value-wise.
The Pores Be Pure mask’s 2 primary ingredients are Strawberry and Yarrow. I’m not sure if they’re really the ingredients that are meant to do the pore-unclogging or whether they just sound organic and natural but I’ll say now that the smell of strawberries is definitely noticeable.
Basically, I cleanse my face and pat it dry. Then I put a small amount of the mask on my finger and begin spreading it around my face, and keep getting a little more of the mud mask as I cover more of my face.
You’ll notice stinging- if you thin out the mask around your face, this stinging almost disappears. Personally though, the stinging is quite satisfying so I don’t mind it. I then leave my face alone for 10-15 minutes. Once time’s up, I rinse the mask away with warm water and pat my face dry.
At first, my face feels the slightest bit sticky but gradually this diminishes and my face just feels very smooth and snuggly.
I’m not sure if it’s really cleared up many of my spots but it does definitely give my skin a lovely texture. Unfortunately, this smooth, soft feeling only lasts half a day-ish but it’s lovely while it lasts.
I think next I’ll try the Formula 10.0.6 mask that aims to control shine.

Reading The Fault in Our Stars
I began reading John Green’s ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ yesterday and despite the mammoth pile of homework and assessments I have waiting diligently on my desk, this novel has taken first place on my priorities list.
